“As photographers, it is our duty to find both the good and the bad in this world and expose them as artistically as we can.” —Michael Materazzi
I have been involved in artistic endeavors for over 40 years. Amongst my many creative accomplishments, the following are especially noteworthy:
- Photographer for many non profit organizations as well as for my own business
- Professional touring and studio musician
- Played with many local and national artists such as the late T-Bone Hannon, Doug Brown, Stanley Mitchell, Sam Adragna, and Fito Foster
- Recorded with Karen Newman
- Wrote the music, lyric, and book for a musical entitled: Dance of the Aphids
- Wrote copy for a large fund raising organization
- Graphic Designer
I attended The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, which is what turned me from my past artistic tastes to photography. I immediately fell in love with the idea of freezing the moment; of capturing something special that has the potential to live on after I move on.
My love for “the shot” is evident. And making the shot, not taking the shot, is what it’s all about. I am a constant student of the art and believe strongly that greatness is always just beyond the grasp; for if one perceives himself as having arrived, then one will never push himself to achieve or learn more.
I have been married for over 30 years and have four children, My passion for the art of photography is a gift from God and as such, a thing to be honored, respected, and yes, loved.
